How Hindi Gets Left Behind
“We promised ourselves we would come back to it later.”
Hindi was meant to be part of everyday life in our home. Instead, it was pushed to the weekend, after school, homework, tuition, and everything else that filled the week.
Too often I found myself at the study table on a Sunday evening with my phone open, searching for a word while my son waited, the week's Hindi homework still spread in front of us and the evening already late. We could complete the work, but completion does not equal to retention.
The problem was not time alone. Hindi still needed me beside him, explaining, translating and keeping him going and I wished there was a way he could do more without me.
That hope eventually became The हिंदी Lab, a platform where a child could open their own dashboard and begin practice on their own, happily and without waiting for Sunday or for a parent to be free.
