Little and Often

We thought more practice meant longer practice.

We thought more practice meant longer practice.

One Saturday afternoon, my son and I sat down with a stack of Hindi worksheets. We had one goal: finish as much as we could before dinner.

By the end of it, we had covered a lot, but remembered surprisingly little a few days later.

For a while, I thought the answer was simply more practice. More worksheets. More vocabulary. Longer revision sessions.

But somewhere along the way, I realised we had been solving the wrong problem.

Learning a language isn't about how much you do in one sitting. It's about how often you come back to it.

A child who spends 20 minutes reading, listening or speaking Hindi each day will often build far more confidence than a child who spends two hours with it once a week.

That idea quietly shaped The Hindi Lab.

Rather than asking children to do more, I wanted to make it easier for them to come back tomorrow.

Because sometimes, learning doesn't need bigger efforts.

It just needs smaller ones, more often.
