We Finished the Worksheets, but It Did Not Stay

We once believed that more Hindi practice meant longer Hindi practice. One Saturday afternoon, my son and I sat with a pile of worksheets and kept going until dinner. By the end, there were pages of answers and a feeling that we had accomplished something.

A few days later, I realised how little had truly settled. The words we had worked so hard to learn still felt new. The session had been long, but it had been too dense. There was no time for the language to breathe, recur and become recognisable.

That changed the way I thought about practice.

The हिंदी Lab was built around shorter, varied encounters with Hindi, so a child can read, listen, speak and play with the language often enough for it to begin to stay.
